The new kite is called the Kahoona.
It will be released in April 2009.

THE KAHOONA

The Kahoona is totally new - It’s different - It’s safer – It just made Kiteboarding more fun

The Kahoona will come in sizes 7.5 (mini), 9.5 (medium), 11.5 (big), and 13.5 (mega)

The Kahoona will be less expensive than the Waroo

The Kahoona will have one 50cm bar making quivers less expensive

The Kahoona is Super Easy to Relaunch

2009 Kahoona

Best Kiteboarding is proud to announce the latest addition to its 2009 kite line up.

The new Kahoona is the perfect choice for every rider looking for a super stable, easy-to-rig, easy-to-fly kite. A reduced aspect-ratio and swept leading edge make the Kahoona Best's quickest relaunching kite; it is the perfect kite choice for beginners and intermediate riders looking to maximize their progress every session.

A new Redline Safety System delivers instant safety-depower whenever you push the QR or drop the bar. With short bridles and only four flying lines, there is nothing to wrap around the kite should you roll it while relaunching. The Redline Safety System allows you to forget about the kite and concentrate on your riding.

Our Quad-Strut swept-tip design helps minimize drag for faster, easier turning helping to improve low wind ability. Responsive handling, great downwind drift, and auto-relaunch combine to help make the Kahoona the most evolved big-wave surf kite we've ever made.

A new VP2 mini-bridle provides the Kahoona with a large wind range and helps maximize stability in all riding conditions, especially when riding unhooked or overpowered. Single point connections for front and rear flying lines simplify your rigging options and make the Kahoona incredibly quick and simple to set-up even for novice riders.

The Kahoona's auto-relaunch, ease of set-up, large wind range and reliable safety will help make you progress faster than you thought was possible. It comes loaded with ease of use and safety features that are out of this world, at a surprisingly down to earth price.

Kahoona: Progression in every session.

Deltas are designed to make Kitebarding dead simple.
Less Kite skill to fly and very easy water relaunching.
Much like what the BOW kite did to C shaped kites, deltas are all about easy riding.

The Kahoona will suit the first time riders and also the wake boarders getting going who just want to get on the water as fast as possible.

The Waroo and Nemesis deliver more performance as they already do compared to other Delta designs. But recognising the learner market is a huge growth area and delivering a product that will get even more people into and stoked on the sport faster than ever has to be a good thing for the industry.

As soon as the samples arrive you can ride it.
BEST is doing to the DELTA design what they did to the BOW design, they are perfecting it. Making it fly better and turn properly without the spin/yaw issues early designs have.
They will of course build the strongest kite you have ever seen.

Update on BEST kites R & D spotted.
The Delta shape 2009-2010?

Peter is working hard on a new kite. Because BEST took the decision to drop the Yarga C kite this year, Peter finally has enough time to work on a completely new design.

He's been exploring several different concepts, ultra high aspect sle and low aspect truncated tip designs. He's currently working on some truncated tip|delta shapes.

Have a week peek at this! (Place your order for 2010 today!!! )

This will give BEST rider a huge range of designs to choose from.

BEST perfected the SLE/BOW design with the Waroo back in 2006.
If they like the Delta shapes characteristics and fix the spin/yaw turning issues etc, seen on the Bandit then they will do for Delta what the did for Bow, perfect it!
Will be interesting to see if this prototype makes it to production.

The Nemesis is the show stealer this year in terms of technology.
The Waroo is the number one selling kite in the world.
I wonder what the Delta will bring to the table?
