Kite Power

This project has been running for several years here in NZ.
It is a German project with it's kite design base here in Auckland.
I have seen the size of these kites and you can walk around inside them. Pretty amazing project really.
That's where the real money in kite design is.

Kites are being used to develop wind turbine style energy and for efficiency on ocean freight.
So it's not just the free spirited kiters like you and me that are so taken with the technology.
If you really get into the physics of the energy kites can produce, especially when attached to a moving object, the dynamics of the power generation are fascinating.
