Photo Tips and Tricks
Before you upload your images to your Public or Private Photo Gallery, please optimise the image size and resolution as shown below. This will allow you to add the full size images into your Kiter Blog pages without it over running the page borders. It will also reduce the number of software glitches locking users out of the site accidentially.
So here is a list of tips to follow:
File convention:
The most common file with the best colour depth is the (.jpg) file format. Other formats like (.gif) and/or (.bmp) are also accepted, but the colour depth of the (.jpg) format is better suited to photo's
Naming convention:
Please use names that all computer systems can read.
We have found problems with the use of the following characters and 'spaces' in file names. These are to be avoided.
"!@#$+=%^&*(){}[],':;" spaces and comma's should also be avoided.
A poor name example is name,001.jpg
A good name example is name-001.jpg
Resolution:
Always use standard web resolution.
Photos must be uploaded at 72dpi resolution.
This is perfect for web sites, but is not print quality.
Image Size:
Set image sizes to a max of 800 pixles wide. (750w is perfect).
You can set both Image Size: & Resolution: in the Image Resize option of any good photo editing software. Or by using a Save at Web Quality function.
this is an example of a full size image inserted into a kiter blog page. It fits the page nicely and the page at 750w still loads quickly.

Tip for your kiter Blog:
Add a photo to your Gallery and call it AVATAR.jpg
Start your Kiter Blog with a thumbnail image of this AVATAR.jpg
Then write your story along with inserts of your other images.
If you dont have an image of the riding for the day at least your AVATAR brightens up the page a little.
Best regards,
Lee McClelland.
Any other tipps and suggestions are welcome.
